The 2019 Slough Horticultural Show held on Saturday 17 th August
attracted a crowd of over 4,000 , an increase on 2018. As well as
the competitions taking place within the grand marquee,
entertainment was provided in the arena from 11:00 to 17:00 and
there were 60 plus quality stalls to browse and purchase from.
The show opened to the sound of Elite Dohl Drummers and during
the day Solid Steel steel band performed along with the British
Airways Brass Band and Datchet Border Morris danced and
interacted with the audience in a big way. Vocalist Michelle “B”
sang. Air Training Corps 153 Squadron did a drill presentation and
helped throughout the day.War was declared on 1 st September 1939

and the show honoured the input made by Slough to the war effort and

particularly the emerging Slough Trading Estate.

The Slough Allotment Federation commemorated “Dig for Victory”

which in 1940 saw its founding ! Activities were provided for children

with a fun fair, land train, maze,balloon modelling, face painting and

a petting zoo with Basil and Crew.
 

     Entertainment for the whole family

A special visitor was Arbor the 18ft Tree Man who walked amongst the crowds giving away saplings to plant.
